Hey,
We are Emma and Michelle, your RAG officers for 2008/2009. RAG stands for Raising And Giving and this year we hope to raise lots of money for some fantastic charities!! RAG week is the annual week devoted to raising money for charity and during the week RAG crews will be on the streets of Newcastle collecting money and organising events to make you want to part with your dosh!! RAG week this year is the 14th- 19th February and the money from RAG week will go to five different charities we have picked. These are CIA, Winston’s Wish, Rainbow Trust, Alzheimer’s Society North East and SCAN. There are lots of ways that you can get involved and help us raise lots of money!! You can come to crew interviews and apply to be a member of RAG crew, this is great fun and a chance to get to meet lots of other students, you can put money in our charity pots and you can come to the events that we are putting on during and after RAG week. During RAG week this year there are loads of events that will make you want to leave your cosy home!!
Rag week begins on the Saturday14th February (Valentines Day) and to mark the start of a fab week we have collaborated with Ministry of Sound to bring you big D.J ‘s and massive anthems! This is just the beginning though and throughout the rest of the week you will want to get your hands on tickets for the roller disco, UV bubble party, Newcastle’s got Talent, the massive bar crawl and the theatre production with a twist. If you are around the Union during the day you may want to help us in our attempt to beat a Guinness World Record and meet some Newcastle Footballers not to mention take part in other events with great prizes.

We have a limited number of spaces left on crew for this year’s RAG week, and we are holding one last interview session on the 13th February from 9.30- 11 am in the union Basement.
